Prevalence of Some Diarrhea Pathogens among under 5, in Wad Medani Pediatric Teaching Hospital, Gezira State, Sudan

Infections of gastrointestinal tract are the most frequent diseases worldwide. Infectious diarrhea is a major public health problem and remains one important causes morbidity mortality among infants children especially in developing countries. The symptoms gastroenteritis include vomiting which may lead to severe dehydration even death. aim this study was identify some diarrheal pathogen under five attending wad Medani Pediatric Teaching hospital during January 2021 march 2022. Total 384 stool samples were collected from suffering tested using culture with biochemical test, direct examination by wet preparation staining techniques. Moreover, screen Rotavirus Ag ICT used determine their prevalence. data questionnaire analyzed Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). results showed that prevalence pathogens 196 (51%). (29.6 %) Giardia lamblia, (19.9%) Cryptosporidium, (13.3%) Rotaviruses, (12.2%) Escherichia coli,( 9.7%) Schigella species,( 8.7%) Entamoeba histolytica (6.6% )was Salmonella species. From those infected patients,( 56.1%) had fever, (76%) vomiting. Also, (39.3%) resides urban while( 60.7%) rural situation. About (42.9 % )had dehydration, (60% )acute (40%) chronic , (87.8%) take Rota vaccine (70%) mother not use soap cleaning think infectious disease it cause teething. In conclusion parasitic infections mostly poor family able provide safety water sanitation low education also suffer malnutrition decrease immunity give chance infection (Cryptosporidium).
 Recommendation, about child prevention, attention should be Payed proper hygienic measure such as hand washing, safe disposal feces disinfection contaminated surface reduce risk agents transmission.
